Lake Isabella Get Away

We just got back from a 3 day get away to Lake Isabella. As you can see the lake is very, very low. From what I understand, they are draining it to do repairs to the dam. The water was so low that people were driving around in the lake bed to get down to the lake, so not much going on there. I lost myself in a few good books and ate way too much. The Kern River and Canyon is always great no matter what time of year, there are huge boulders in the river that create bubbling rapids, then there is the shining calm pools that invite you to dive in, the Canyon walls are sheer and amazing things grow out of them. Here are some pictures, got to get busy packing to move this week.

Molly and myself on the Kern River, Molly is a friend from church that went up with us and spent the weekend with her sister, Jane, in Lake Isabella. I am glad she went, we had alot of fun on the way there and back.
Travis and one of the inviting pools of water.
